Penang will enter the second phase of the national recovery plan starting tomorrow. During the second phase of the National Recovery Plan, renovation works for residential houses and commercial buildings are allowed.
According to the latest standard operating procedures (SOP) announced by the National Security Council yesterday, the approved construction areas include renovation work for residential houses and commercial buildings, emergency maintenance and upgrading works, and construction of public facilities.
In addition, construction projects involving employee accommodation (approved), construction projects that provide employees with on-site accommodation or Centralised Workers Quarters (CLQ), small-scale projects by G1 and G2 contractors, and land survey work are also allowed to operate.
Construction industry approved to operate:
- Critical maintenance and repair works
- Public infrastructure construction works
- Construction works with approved employee accommodation on-site build
- Construction works placing workers in approved Centralised Workers Quarters (CLQ)
- Construction works for small scale projects carried out by G1 and G2 contractors
- Renovation works for single residential houses / commercial buildings
- Land survey works
